The on-job-training announcements for summer placements are made to students. Along with their application, letters are sent to the companies. The companies then shortlist students for the summer internship. Alternatively, companies also come to campus and hold interviews to select the PGP students. The companies that are not able to visit the campus for summer internship have the option of selecting the students on the basis of their resumes. Companies are expected to pay a certain stipend to the summer trainees and also to cover expenses incurred on travel (outstation), boarding and lodging if involved in the projects, should be reimbursed as per the organization rules.
Companies/ organizations are normally requested to communicate the project brief to the summer trainees at least two weeks before the start of the training; either in reply to the letter of application or directly to the placement coordinator while confirming a student for summer internship in its organization. This basically helps the students and provides them an opportunity to discuss the project with the concerned faculty and prepare themselves for summer internship

IISCS - Mentoring Proramme
IISCS firmly believes in molding the future managers by providing personal guidance for their development. Towards this end, a mentoring programme has been institutionalized to counsel them on the key attributes that they need to focus on to become effective managers and future leaders. The programme also covers issues connected with the recruitment and selection process of managers and how the students can confidently face such processes.
The programme is structured in such a way that a group of students are assigned a mentor for counseling and guidance. The group stays with the mentor for one and a half year and he/she plays the role of their friend, philosopher and guide in all matters. Group sessions as well as one on one session are included in the programme. The frequency of the mentoring sessions is designed in such a way so as to be highly productive
The programme is well appreciated by the student community for the high degree of personal involvement of the mentor in shaping their future.
